Chi power claims can be tested
Chi power claims do not become stronger because they sound ancient or because students fall down on cue. A no-touch effect should work on a willing sceptic under conditions that prevent cueing, anticipation and compliant performance. If it disappears as soon as those controls are introduced, that result matters more than a room full of demonstrations.
